Digg wants me to block their ads

in wtf

Apparently, Digg doesn’t get the hint. The vast majority of their userbase blocks ads via AdBlock Plus. A few disable this just for Digg so they can make some revenue.

But, why then would Digg allow such obviously offensive ads on their site? They’re assaulting the very people who are trying to support them.

I wouldn’t call it offensive, just annoying. Its just an advertising promotion…

James, you are correct… I don’t think I’d call it offensive. Annoying is a better description.

However, the ad was on top of the content, and scrolled across the bottom of the page. It’s exactly those kinds of ads that pushed most people to use AdBlock in the first place.

yea… the ad really shouldn’t be there, I agree. They should make it smaller and put it in the footer.
